Under the supervision of Prof. Richard W. Hutchinson, a PhD in Geology (sp. Geochemistry) by the Colorado School of Mines followed in 1991, which granted equivalence as Doutor em Geologia (Metalogenia) by the Univ. of Lisbon in 1992.
