turbiditos, xistos, conglomerados e arenitos do Paleozóico, granitos e
registos com classificação tipológica associada, traduz movimentos do
tipo deslizamento translacional e fluxos.
ABSTRACT: The study analyses the distribution of mass movement occurrences, for the Central region of mainland Portugal in the period 1865-2015. The inventory was supported on the analysis of academic papers, field observations and hemerographic records, such as those that support the Disaster database. The mapping allows to observe that most of mass movements occurs in materials such as turbidites, schists, conglomerates and sandstones of the Paleozoic, granites and other granitoids with diverse age, evaporates, volcanic-sedimentary materials and Jurassic limestone. Translational slide movements and flows are the most frequent type of mass movement, as interpreted or observed from the database sources. The mapping of occurrences also allows to observe a clear concentration of these in the NUT III Region of Coimbra, contrasting with the NUT III Beira Baixa, which has the lowest number of occurrences.
