RESUMEN: Las denominadas plantas híbridas PV-CSP combinan las tecnologías solares fotovoltaica y de concentración con el objetivo de explotar de una manera óptima y en una sola aplicación la principal ventaja de cada una de ellas, esto es el bajo coste de generación de la tecnología fotovoltaica y la gestionabilidad de dicha producción que ofrece la capacidad de almacenamiento de las plantas de concentración. En este trabajo se presenta un análisis de este tipo de plantas partiendo del estado del arte de los proyectos que se encuentran en construcción o en desarrollo a nivel mundial por todo el mundo. Sobre esta base, que sirve para justificar el actual interés en este tipo de plantas por parte de promotores y usuarios, se realizado un análisis tecno-económico de un proyecto de implantación, considerando diferentes variantes de hibridación PV-CSP en función de la potencia nominal de cada una de las tecnologías. Para la realización de este estudio, se escogió un emplazamiento situado en el sur de España y se utilizó el software de diseño SAM (System Advisor Model), que permite evaluar el rendimiento energético y económico de este tipo de plantas de forma individual a través de parámetros de mérito como el factor de capacidad (CF) y el coste nivelado de la energía (LCOE).
ABSTRACT: PV-CSP hybrid plants combine photovoltaic and concentrating solar technologies, taking advantage of the benefits of them, such as power generation low cost of photovoltaic technology and energy storage capacity of concentrating solar technologies. This work presents some research studies about PV-CSP hybrid plants, as well as a compilation of projects under construction or under development using this type of hybrid plants around the world. Afterwards, to assess the performance of this type of solar energy hybrid plants, a techno-economic analysis was made, considering different combinations of concentrating technologies for the PV-CSP union. To carry out this study, a location was selected in the south of Spain and the design software SAM (System Advisor Model) was used to assess the energy and economic performance of this type of hybrid plants, determined by the parameters of capacity factor (CF) and levelized cost of energy (LCOE).
