ABSTRACT: The objective of estimating the available solar energy platform of the Venezuelan Andes Region, which is made up of the States of Mérida, Táchira and Trujillo, was to obtain processed values of global solar radiation (H), direct (Rdir) and diffuse (Rdif ) in order to know its behavior for uses of solar technologies. The daily average H data for a period of 5 years were processed for each of the 3 meteorological stations belonging to different bioclimatic zones of the mentioned States and the values of Rdif and Rdir were determined by two models (Erbs and Collares Pereira Ralb) . Radiation performance graphs were analyzed based on monthly averages. Among the conclusions are: The highest H per State was 15.89MJ/m2 (Trujillo), 16.11MJ/m2 (Táchira) and the highest per region 20.96MJ/m2 (Merida) and the highest Rdif (ERBS) per State It was 11.33MJ/m2 (Táchira), 11.37MJ/m2 (Merida) and the highest by region 11.45MJ/m2 (Trujillo).
