RESUMEN: El Gobierno de la República de Angola, consciente de la importancia del sector de las rocas y
minerales industriales en el desarrollo socioeconómico de su territorio, evitando la dependencia de la
minería metálica, energética y diamantífera, ha promovido la realización una nueva serie cartográfica en el
ámbito del subprograma CARMINA, dentro del Proyecto PLANAGEO (Plan Nacional de Geología) para
elaborar un total de 30 mapas geológico-mineros. Con una metodología moderna, y definiendo Áreas de
Potencialidad Minera, esta serie cartográfica incluye unas memorias asociadas que recogen las
investigaciones y resultados técnico-analíticos del área de estudio. Los trabajos han puesto de manifiesto el
formidable potencial en el ámbito de las rocas y minerales industriales, recogido en esta nueva serie
cartográfica que pretende profundizar en la situación actual del sector, realizando un exhaustivo repaso por
todas las rocas y minerales explotadas en la actualidad o en el pasado, la tipología de los yacimientos donde
se localizan dichas sustancias, una descripción de cómo se realiza la minería actual de los materiales, los
usos principales a los que se destinan, etc., que permita mejorar el conocimiento y aprovechamiento minero
de los mismos y tenga aplicación en la ordenación territorial.
ABSTRACT: The Government of the Republic of Angola, aware of the importance of the industrial rocks and minerals sector in the socioeconomic development of its territory, avoiding dependence on metal, energy, and diamond mining, has promoted the creation of a new cartographic series in the scope of the CARMINA subprogram, within the PLANAGEO Project (National Geological Plan of Angola) to prepare a total of 30 geological maps. This initiative aims to produce a total of 30 geological-mining maps, using modern technology as a fundamental contribution to the planning of mineral resource exploitation. The series defines Areas of Mineral Potential and includes accompanying reports that detail the research and technical-analytical results of the study area. The work has revealed the significant potential of industrial rocks and minerals, as documented in these new cartographic series. This project seeks to delve into the current state of the sector, conducting a thorough review of all rocks and minerals currently or historically exploited, the typology of the deposits hosting these substances, a description of contemporary mining practices for those materials, their primary uses, etc. This approach aims to enhance the knowledge and application of these resources within the mining sector with direct implementation in territorial planning.
